MISSION STATEMENT

The Town of Evans Agricultural Advisory Committee has been established for the purpose of:

  1. Recognizing the importance of agriculture as both a vital local economic base and as a landform that provides the Town of Evans with much of its rural, rustic character and charm.
  2. Assuring the continued viability of farming as an industry, which is important to the local economy and to the preservation of open space and vistas.
  3. Providing for the most beneficial relationship between the use of land and buildings and the agricultural practices of the community.
  4. Further encouraging the wise use and management of the Town's natural resources through modern farming practices.
  5. Providing a means for minimizing, mediating and resolving conflicts between farmers and non-farm neighbors.
  6. Adhering to, advising and supporting enforcement of all Town codes pertaining to agriculture.

CONSERVATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The Conservation Advisory Commission makes recommendations to the Towns Board regarding open space conservation program, and conservation priorities for the Town of Evans. Committee members are appointed by the Town Board and serve one year terms.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The Evans Town Board formed the Economic Development Advisory Committee in May 2002, to assist with development issues and implementation of the Master Plan. The Committee currently consists of 12-members from various professions such as: banking; legal; real estate; industrial development; local government; small business; and, health and human services. EDAC, a recommending committee, has been actively engaged in local economic development matters, working to enhance development opportunities in the Town of Evans. Most recently, EDAC has been involved in advancing the Residential Tax Enhancement Project as well as the Lake Erie Beach Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy. The committee usually meets the second Wednesday of each month from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

PARKS AND RECREATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The Town of Evans Recreation and Parks Advisory Board was established by the Town Board in 1979 to initiate and promote recreational programs and make recommendations for long range community improvements to programs and facilities pertaining to Parks and Recreation. The 9-member board is made up of interested community members who are willing to serve the minimum of a one-year term.

RECYCLING COMMITTEE

The mission of the Evans Recycling Committee is to develop and deliver programs that educate the public about recycling, reducing and reusing goods. Committee members serve a one year term.

VETERANS ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The Veteran's Committee was formed in 2008 to help local veterans be made aware of their benefits and rights, coordinate events such as Veteran's Day and Memorial Day activities, and to educate our youth on the role our military veterans have played in our Country's history. Members serve a one year term.
